Ndamukong Suh apologizes to mom for cursing on television
Ndamukong Suh is highly paid because he's one of the most intimidating players on the field. So what does it take to make him apologize for something that happens during a game? If he offends his mom, as he did this week:
Suh became angry when a referee's ruling cost him a sack, and his profanity was audible on the telecast because it was accidentally captured by the official's microphone.
Suh said he heard from his mother about it, and he issued a public apology to her Wednesday. Suh said he hasn't heard from the NFL regarding a potential fine.
While it may seem strange for Suh to apologize publicly to his mom -- after all he's supposed to be completely non-apologetic -- it's certainly not the first time he's publicly expressed regret. Take for instance, in 2013 when he apologized to his Detroit Lions teammates for a dirty hit that robbed one teammate of a pick six and pushed the team into a harsh spotlight.
And in 2014, he apologized for skipping out of his media obligations. "I apologize for not speaking to the media," he said. "I had something I had to deal with, so I apologize."
And in 2011, for stomping on Evan Dietrich-Smith's head:
"In the past few hours, I have had time to reflect on yesterday’s game and I want to sincerely apologize for letting my teammates down, the organization, and especially to my fans who look to me for positive inspiration," he said.
